Eligibility is not designation, and location is only one of the tests a project must meet. If you’re evaluating this site, we can help you understand what it would take.

Method and sources
The address is matched by the U.S. Census Bureau Geocoder to its 2020 census tract, which is checked against the OZ 2.0 eligibility list. Original zones were designated in 2018 on 2010 tract boundaries, so the lookup separately finds the 2010 tract at the same point and checks it against the original list. Comparing a 2020 tract with the 2010 list directly can give wrong answers.
- Original zones:8,765 tracts from the CDFI Fund list. The official list was published in IRS Notices 2018-48 and 2019-42. Original zones generally expire December 31, 2028.
- OZ 2.0 eligible tracts:25,332 tracts (8,334 entirely rural) from theappendix to IRS Rev. Proc. 2026-14.
- OZ 2.0 designations: governors nominate from the eligible tracts. The IRS has said it will publish the list of designated zones, effective January 1, 2027, before that date. We’ll add it here when it’s published.
Lists last updated October 21, 2026. Geocoding and tract boundaries: U.S. Census Bureau Geocoder and TIGERweb. This tool uses Census Bureau services but is not endorsed or certified by the Census Bureau. Addresses you enter are sent to the Census Bureau to be matched and are not stored by us.
